IVAs

IVAs (Individual Voluntary Arrangements) are on the increase as more and more consumers see them as a suitable debt solution.

An IVA is an arrangement which was introduced by Government legislation. It enables you fix repayments at a level you can afford for 5 years. If you stick to the IVA then at the end of the 5 years the remaining debt is wiped out.

Entering into an IVA will stop creditors making any further contact with you.

Debt Management

Whether you’re looking for a long or short term solution a debt management plan could be the most appropriate option for you. Consumer Debt Solutions can help to arrange debt management plans tailored specifically to your needs.

As part of your debt management plan we will look to freeze interest, reduce monthly* outgoings, prevent further contact from creditors and ensure you only pay what you can afford on a monthly basis.

If in the future your circumstances change you can end the plan at any time that suits you.

*Reducing your monthly payments may affect your credit rating.

Your credit rating can be affected whenever you do not keep up repayments on a credit agreement as the details are recorded on your credit file for 6 years. In the same way, most debt solutions will be recorded on your credit file. Any information which shows that you have not been able to meet the payments due under your credit commitments can make it more difficult and more expensive to obtain credit in the future. Other people that may check your credit file include mobile phone operators and future employers.
